She also wins another title, Miss Body Beautiful. Don't ask me what the assessment questionnaires are like. Heh.

Out of curiousity, I went to check the official website for the organiser of Miss Singapore Universe 2011. The website titled, "Derrol Stepenny" (www.derrolstepenny.com). Surprisingly, though, it may not yet be updated. See this curious screenshot? Heh.

A bit disappointed that I couldn't find out whether Ms Valerie Lim blogs or not. Anyway, here are what I consider the top 4 photos of hers:

So is it just me or is that true that she looks much more captivating when she doesn't smile? Oh well...Shrugs.

The winner of the Miss Singapore Universe pageant clearly stood out from the rest of the competition.

Miss Valerie Lim, 25, is a leggy 1.79m tall.

The behavioural therapist was crowned at the Shangri-La Hotel last night.

She also won a subsidiary title, Miss Body Beautiful.

She will go on to represent Singapore in the Miss Universe 2011 International pageant at Sao Paulo, Brazil in September.

Judges told The New Paper they were impressed with Valerie's confidence and wit. She was also articulate and handled the Q & A segment well.

Judge Mr Bernard Lim said: "She exuded confidence throughout the night, right up to the question-and-answer segment. You could tell she was comfortable and not nervous."

Valerie had previously participated in and also won Miss Earth Singapore in 2009, and said that the experience boosted her confidence on stage.

From Asiaone, "Miss Singapore Universe towers above the competition".
Congratulations to Ms Valerie Lim who is now honored as the Miss Singapore Universe 2011!

Here’s what Chinese people were searching for this past week:

1. Xia Xinyu: Xia Xinyu is a young television actress who has been in some well-received shows including “Dwelling Narrowness,” but she’s in the news now for two reasons. First, she is apparently the third party who broke up Nicholas Tse and Cecelia Chung’s marriage. Second, some sexy photos of her have also been released. (Image source)
2.

3.  “Naked Wedding”: “Naked Wedding” is a new and popular television program that’s being broadcast both on traditional television and via Youku. It has attracted a lot of attention by claiming to be as “realistic” as “Dwelling Narrowness,” a program so “realistic” in its depictions of the troubles in China’s urban housing markets that it was canceled by censors. “Naked Wedding” has done well, though, and now people are searching for the full collection of episodes of the show. 4.

5. Deng Jianguo: Deng is a film exec who has been in the news recently for his marriage to a post-90s girl (someone who was born after 1990) despite the fact that Deng himself was born in 1959. Most recently, photos of their honeymoon have dragged the issue back to the top of China’s mainstream consciousness. Anyway, we’ve got to give Deng his due, for a man over 50, he looks pretty good in these pictures! (Image source)
6.

7. “Naruto” 439: The latest episode of Naruto, a popular Japanese anime program, has been released, and like every week, it’s one of the top things people search for. (Image source)
8.

9. Transformers 3 Screen Time: Transformers is a hugely popular franchise in China but the latest title has been delayed for reasons that we’re sure have nothing whatsoever to do with getting more eyeballs in front of the recent CCP propaganda flick “The Beginning of the Great Revival.” Wink. Anyway, Transformers 3 hits screens in China July 21st, assuming it isn’t delayed again before then, and fans are quite excited to see it (and also peeved they’re getting it weeks after it hit theaters in the US and Europe). 10.

11. “Love Before the Sun Goes Down”: “Love”, which is also known as “Ghep Tawan Wai Tee Plai Faa,” is a new Thai TV serial that’s also popular in China. (Image source: Baidu Baike).
12.

13. Li Meixi: Li is yet another young lady who stands accused of helping break of Nicholas Tse and Cecelia Chung’s marriage. In this article, it says she’s now competing with Xia Xinyu to become Tse’s mistress, but as with all Chinese celebrity news, take that with a few grains of salt. (Image source: Baidu Baike)
14.

15. “Modern People”: “Modern People” — a rough translation — is a 2010 TV serial drama set in Beijing that was apparently good enough people still are looking for episodes of it. (Image source: Baidu Baike)
16.

17. “Love You”: “Love You” is a new Taiwanese serial with a deceptively simple English name — the Chinese title is “I fell in love with you when I was drunk.” Romantic! Anyway, people are looking for episode 13 of it, which is the one most recently broadcast. (Image source: Baidu Baike)
18.

19. “New Huan Zhu Gege”: A remade version of a classic and beloved TV serial is about to hit the airwaves in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and as usual for remakes, people are skeptical that it can compare favorably to it’s well-liked source material. (Image source: Baidu Baike).
